J.T. Miller scored, and Halak made 27 saves for the Canucks (5-6-2), who ended a seven-game homestand 2-4-1.
"We've been playing well," Miller said. "We have to keep evaluating ourselves honestly, and honestly we played another good hockey game. We still have things to take care of on the special teams, we could always grow there, but I think those will come. We have to stay on the same page five-on-five and trust that more nights than not we're going to get four, five, maybe six goals."
They may have if not for Gibson, who made breakaway saves off Miller and Bo Horvat in overtime, and on Horvat on a power-play one-timer in the slot 6:44 into the first period, and another breakaway in tight at 10:30 of the second.
"It felt like he was going to stop anything he saw," Canucks coach Travis Green said.
Terry assisted on Cam Fowler's power-play goal to put the Ducks ahead 1-0 at 11:18 of the first period. He has 16 points (nine goals, seven assists) during his streak, the longest in the NHL this season and the Ducks' longest since Teemu Selanne and Paul Kariya each had a 12-game point streak in 1996-97.
"Everyone says they don't like to think about it, and I'm no different. I'm just enjoying the way this team is playing," Terry told Bally Sports West. "When you get away from the game maybe later on and you see that list that I'm on, it's just an incredibly prestigious list and I'm honored to be on it."
