ALUMNI Q&A - MATT STAJAN

Q: What was your favourite memory while playing for the Flames?
A: Scoring the series-winning goal against the Canucks, at the Saddledome, in the 2015 playoffs. Sharing that moment with my teammates and the C of Red is something I'll never forget.

Q:Who was your favourite teammate and why?
A: This question is always so hard to answer. And looking back, I was lucky to play with so many guys that I will forever share a brotherhood with. Every teammate has there own personality and uniqueness, so I always appreciated what every individual brought to the team. It's just way to hard to pick one. There are so many.
Q: Where did you settle down when you retired from hockey?
A:Calgary

Q: What did you do after you hung up your skates?
A: Since retiring, I have really enjoyed spending a lot more time at home with my family. We have two young boys, so it's been really nice to see them grow and not have to miss out on anything. Also, I have done the occasional TV gig during Flames games and a bit of radio work as well.
Q: What are your interests and passions outside the game?
A: Right now, probably building LEGO with my kids. Haha. Otherwise, not much beats getting out and playing a round of golf.

Q: Tell us a bit about your family?
A:My wife Katie and I have two young boys, Elliot & Dylan. And a fur baby, Lola (yellow lab). The Stajan house is non-stop these days.
