After a Wednesday morning practice in Las Vegas, the Kraken flew to Nashville for Thursday night's game against the Predators. Coach Dave Hakstol said his team planned to work on "one or two things" to correct from an impressive opening night.
One adjustment the Seattle coach and his staff with have to make is replacing veteran forward Marcus Johansson in the lineup for a road trip that continues for three more games after the Nashville stop. Johansson went on injured reserve (IR) Wednesday with what NHL teams can choose to broadly categorize as "a lower-body injury." Alex Barré-Boulet is set to replace Johansson in the lineup for Thursday's game against Nashville.

In related roster moves, forward Kole Lind was recalled from American Hockey League affiliate Charlotte while fellow forward Alexander True was assigned to Charlotte.
Defenseman Dennis Cholowski, the Kraken's expansion draft choice from Detroit, was placed on waivers Wednesday. If he is not claimed during the league's 24-hour waiver period, the young D-man will likely be assigned to Charlotte.
Johansson was in the Kraken lineup with linemates Alex Wennberg and Joonas Donskoi. He notched 16-plus minutes of ice time, including two-and-a-half minutes on the power play. Lind and True were both with the club Tuesday in the case that forwards Jared McCann and Donskoi couldn't clear COVID protocol before the thrilling game against Vegas.
