The first award of the night was the DEKALB Three Stars Award which was presented to Connor Hellebuyck as the Jets player to receive the most 'Three Stars' honours in 2017-18. The 24-year-old goaltender has been recognized game-after-game for his outstanding play and emergence as one of the best netminders in the NHL. Hellebuyck ranks at or near the top of the league in wins (43), goals-against average (2.38), save percentage (.923), and shutouts (6). The Commerce, Michigan native enters the final game of the season with the single-season franchise record for wins (43), shutouts (6), save percentage (.923), and home wins (29).
The second award of the evening was the Wawanesa Insurance Community Service Award which was presented to forward Matt Hendricks for his commitment to the community. Throughout his 10 years in the NHL, Hendricks has sought to make an impact on the ice and also in the cities that he has called home. In his first year with the Jets, the Blaine, MN native spearheaded the Hendricks' Heroes program to recognize members of the Canadian Armed Forces at Jets home games. Hendricks has contributed financially to the program and has also dedicated a great deal of time to help make Hendricks' Heroes special for both the honourees and Jets fans. Hendricks has also shown a desire to help with the many community initiatives of the Jets and to his teammates' programs as well.
Finally, the Dan Snyder Memorial Award is awarded each year to the Winnipeg Jets player who embodies perseverance, dedication and hard work without reward or recognition, so that his team and teammates might succeed. Defenceman Toby Enstrom was presented with the Dan Snyder Memorial Award for the 2017-18 season. The longtime Jet proved his dedication to the organization by waiving his no-movement clause before last June's expansion draft to help maintain much of the current roster. Enstrom has also missed 60 games through injuries over the last two seasons, but through it all he has been a positive presence in the dressing room and a veteran mentor to the young players on the Jets roster. Enstrom has played 43 games for the Jets this season and recorded six points (1G, 5A) and a plus-eight rating.
