At long last, the New York Islanders are back in the win column.
The Islanders snapped an 11-game winless skid on Tuesday night, beating the Ottawa Senators 5-3 at Canadian Tire Centre.
Anders Lee (2G) and Oliver Wahlstrom powered a three-goal second period of the Islanders, while Kieffer Bellows and JG Pageau scored in the third. In the process, the Islanders picked up their first win since Nov. 6 in Winnipeg and while the Islanders snapped a lengthy losing streak, they extended their current point streak to four games (1-0-3).
Josh Norris (PPG), Nick Holden and Alex Formenton (SHG) scored for the Senators, who saw their three-game winning streak come to a close.

3;00 - NYI 1, OTT 0 - Anders Lee takes a pass in front of the net, misses with a spin-o-rama, but collects his rebound off the end boards and backhands home his fifth of the season. Josh Bailey and Adam Pelech pick up the assists.
9:44 - NYI 1, OTT 1 PPG - Josh Norris beats Ilya Sorokin with a one-timer on a cross-ice feed on a Senators power play.
14:06 - NYI 2, OTT 1 - Oliver Wahlstrom gets the puck down low, makes a quick backhand-forehand-backhand move and deposits the puck over an outstretched Gustavsson.
14:33 - NYI 3, OTT 1 - Lee scoes his second of the night, knocking in an Adam Pelech rebound that kicked off the end glass.
3rd Period:
6:26 - NYI 4, OTT 1 - Kieffer Bellows scored his first goal of the season. Wahlstrom dished the puck down low to Austin Czarnik on the goal line, who quickly touched it up to Bellows, who snapped it past Gustavsson.
8:11 - NYI 4, OTT 2 - Nick Holden's cross-ice pass from the point deflects off Noah Dobson's skate and in. Stützle with the assist.
12:26 - NYI 5, OTT 3 - JG Pageau pads the Islanders lead with his second goal in as many games. Pageau collects a Scott Mayfield rebound and deposits it past Gustavsson.
15:54 - NYI 5, OTT 4 SHG - Alex Formenton keeps and shoots on a two-on-one rush, beating Ilya Sorokin glove side. The goal is the fourth shorthanded goal the Islanders have allowed this season.

NYI@OTT: Sorokin stuffs Stutzle's 2-on-1 opportunity

GOALTENDING BATTLE:
Ilya Sorokin stopped 30 of 33 shots in the win. Sorokin was especially good in the first period, stopping all nine shots he saw, including a two-on-one opportunity for Tim Stützle.
Filip Gustavsson stopped 22 of 27 in the loss.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Islanders went 0-for-2 on the power play, allowing a shorthanded goal in the process.
The Senators went 1-for-5 on the power play.
