1920x1080 - Away - 3-V3

The New York Islanders started their road trip with a win on Tuesday night, skating to a 5-2 win over the Seattle Kraken in the Isles' first-ever trip to Climate Pledge Arena.
Brock Nelson, Zach Parise (2G, 1A), Kyle Palmieri and Casey Cizikas scored for the Islanders, who built a 4-0 lead by the midway mark of the second period.
The offense was ignited after some pregame line tweaks by Barry Trotz, who created a new-look line with Mathew Barzal centering Parise and Palmieri. Yanni Gourde and Riley Sheahan scored for Seattle, who lost their fifth-straight game.
Parise iced the game with an empty-netter and scored twice for the first time since Jan. 14, 2020. The win snapped the Islanders three-game road losing streak.

Condensed Game: Islanders @ Kraken

THE SCORING:
1st Period:
8:53 NYI 1, SEA 0 - Brock Nelson scored his team-leading 18th goal of the season, snapping a rolling puck up high on Philipp Grubauer. Anthony Beauvillier and Ryan Pulock pick up assists. Nelson's goal extended his scoring streak to three games, which is Nelson's longest streak since stringing a four-gamer together from March 6-11, 2021.
17:19 - NYI 2, SEA 0 - Noah Dobson's shot hits Zach Parise's ankle and deflects in. The goal was initially waved off due to goaltender interference, but Barry Trotz challenged and overturned the call. Parise was battling with Mark Giordano in front and it was determined the Kraken captain pushed the Islanders forward into the goaltender.
2nd Period:
5:35 - NYI 3, SEA 0 - Kyle Palmieri makes it 3-0 Islanders, burying a feed from Parise from the corner off Grubauer's mask and in. Palmieri's goal was his fourth in the past four games after only scoring one goal in his first 29 games of the season.
10:33 - NYI 4, SEA 0 - Scott Mayfield fires a shot off the end wall, with the rebound popping out to Casey Cizikas at the side of the net. Cizikas pots in his fifth of the season.
11:18 - NYI 4, SEA 1 - Calle Jarnkork ties up a faceoff allowing Yanni Gourde to fetch the puck and sling it high past Ilya Sorokin.
3rd Period:
1:35 - NYI 4, SEA 2- Noah Dobson goes to play the puck behind the net, but the puck takes a funky bounce off the boards, popping out front, where Riley Sheahan tucks it home.
18:02 - NYI 5, SEA 2 - Parise ices the game with an empty-netter, depositing a loose puck. Zdeno Chara picks up the lone assist.
