The New York Islanders started their road trip with a win on Tuesday night, skating to a 5-2 win over the Seattle Kraken in the Isles' first-ever trip to Climate Pledge Arena.
Brock Nelson, Zach Parise (2G, 1A), Kyle Palmieri and Casey Cizikas scored for the Islanders, who built a 4-0 lead by the midway mark of the second period.
The offense was ignited after some pregame line tweaks by Barry Trotz, who created a new-look line with Mathew Barzal centering Parise and Palmieri. Yanni Gourde and Riley Sheahan scored for Seattle, who lost their fifth-straight game.
Parise iced the game with an empty-netter and scored twice for the first time since Jan. 14, 2020. The win snapped the Islanders three-game road losing streak.
