It was far from perfect through two periods, but it turned into a blow out in the third, as the New York Islanders scored a 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night - 80s Night - at UBS Arena.
Tied 2-2 entering the third, Brock Nelson and Anthony Beauvillier did their best Tango and Cash impression, scoring 22 seconds apart to break open what was a tightly-contested game. Zach Parise added the second of his two goals to ensure the Flyers did not escape from New York with any points.
Adam Pelech and Zach Parise (PPG) also scored for the Islanders, while Ryan Pulock had four assists. Lukas Sedlak (1G, 1A) and Joel Farabee scored for the Flyers, while Kevin Hayes dished a pair of assists.
With the win, the Islanders extended their winning streak to four games and improved to 13-4-0 in their last 17. The Flyers dropped to 0-7-3 in their last 10 games.
