First Period:
7:20 - CBJ 1, NYI 0 - Vladislav Gavrikov put in a rebound kicked out by Semyon Varlamov after making a stop on Patrik Laine's initial shot from distance. Andrew Peeke also picked up an assist.
11:47 - NYI 1, CBJ 1, PPG - Brock Nelson buried a rebound on the backdoor to tie the score 1-1. Anders Lee and Mathew Barzal collected the assists.
15:09 - NYI 2, CBJ 1 - From the slot, Josh Bailey beat Elvis Merzlikins over his glove side. Jean-Gabriel Pageau registered an assist.
Second Period:
3:47 - NYI 3, CBJ 1 -From a sharp angle, Anthony Beauvillier sent a wrist shot past Elvis Merzlikins to extend the Islanders' lead 3-1. Brock Nelson and Anders Lee notched the assists.
9:10 - NYI 4, CBJ 1 -Zach Parise tapped in a sharp saucer pass from Noah Dobson on the backdoor. Mathew Barzal also recorded an assist.
13:32 - NYI 4, CBJ 2 -the Blue Jackets cut their deficit down 4-2 as Vladislav Gavrikov scored his second goal of the night. Jakub Voracek and Patrik Laine tallied the assists.
Third Period:
4:30 - NYI 4, CBJ 3 - From the slot, Oliver Bjkorstrand cut Columbus' deficit down to one goal on a broken play.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Islanders were 1-for-4 on the power play and were 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
