The New York Islanders extended their point streak to five games (4-0-1) with a dramatic 2-1 win over the New York Rangers on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.
Kyle Palmieri broke a 1-1 deadlock with 2:44 to play in the third period, while Anders Lee opened the scoring with a power-play goal. Ilya Sorokin backstopped the win with 29 saves.
Chris Krieder's 40th goal of the season was the lone Rangers tally, while Igor Shesterkin stopped 26 of 28.
