The New York Islanders returned to action with some energy after the eight-day break, beating the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 on Monday night for their third consecutive win.
Kyle Palmieri buried a goal in the first period, while Mat Barzal followed up with a goal in the second frame to power the offense for the Isles. Nicolas Deslauriers scored the lone tally for the Flyers, as the Islanders were able to hold on to win 2-1.
Semyon Varlamov made 25 saves in the victory, winning his second consecutive game between the pipes.
