The New York Islanders defeated the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 on Saturday night in front of a home crowd at UBS Arena
Casey Cizikas and Anthony Beauvillier scored for New York early in the first period for a 2-0 advantage, while Nick Suzuki scored for Montreal with 10:04 left in the third period to end Ilya Sorokin's shutout bid. The Islanders outshot the Canadiens 38-23.
With the victory, the Islanders snapped a four-game winless streak, while improving their home record to 13-7-1.
