The New York Islanders winless streak reached four games, as the Isles fell 5-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night at UBS Arena.
Simon Holmstrom and Brock Nelson had the Islanders in a 2-2 tie after 20 minutes, but Sebastian Aho's sixth-career hat trick - and first natural hat trick - proved to be the difference. Jordan Staal (1G, 1A) and Jesper Fast also scored for the Metropolitan Division leading Hurricanes.
With the loss, the Islanders dropped to 0-3-1 in their last four games, 1-5-3 in their last nine games and 2-6-3 in their last 11.
