The New York Islanders fell 4-3 to the Boston Bruins in a shootout for their first overtime loss of the season.
After the Bruins got out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to Jake DeBrusk (2G, 1A), goals from Josh Bailey and Noah Dobson tied the game 2-2. Derek Forbort put the Bruins up 3-2 with a shorthanded goal but Casey Cizikas tied the game in the third to force overtime.
Mathew Barzal was the only Islander to score in their first shootout of the season. DeBrusk and David Pastrnak (1A) connected for the Bruins to seal the game.
