LEE TAKES MAINTENANCE DAY
Anders Lee (maintenance) did not join the Islanders for practice on Thursday. The captain has 41 points (18G, 23A) through 76 games this season.
With Lee out, Max Shabanov skated with Bo Horvat and Emil Heineman during line rushes.
Head Coach Patrick Roy said that Lee is expected to play on Friday.
SOROKIN TO START VS PHILLY
Roy announced Ilya Sorokin as the starter for Friday's contest against the Philadelphia Flyers at UBS Arena.
It'll mark his fifth straight start. Sorokin is 28-20-2 with a 2.59 GAA and a .910 SV% along with seven shutouts.
HOLMSTROM UPDATE
Simon Holmstrom (day-to-day, upper-body) was not on the ice for practice. He missed Tuesday's contest in Buffalo. Roy did not provide an update on his status on Friday.
Holmstrom has 39 points (19G, 20A) this season.
DEANGELO UPDATE
Tony DeAngelo (lower-body) did not join the team for practice. He’s been out since Mar. 24 and missed four games.
