There was no immediate update on the status of defenseman Andy Greene or forward Michael Dal Colle at the Isles optional skate on Wednesday morning, but Head Coach Barry Trotz confirmed that both players will travel to St. Louis with the Islanders.

"I have updates; they are traveling," Trotz said. "We'll see where they are tomorrow. Everyone is making the trip. The ones who are not available to us at this point are [Casey] Cizikas and [Adam] Pelech."

Andy Greene left after playing just 3:24 in the first period. Greene collided with New York forward Brendan Lemieux along the wall and went to the bench. Greene left for the locker room at 17:02 of the first period and did not return.
Dal Colle left the game in the final minutes of the third period after he was on the receiving end of an open-ice hit from Jacob Trouba. Dal Colle immediately went to the locker room. The winger played 10:23 alongside Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Josh Bailey before his night ended.

DAD'S TRIP KICKS OFF

The Isles 2020 Dad and Mentors trip begins today as the group will travel for a one-game road trip in St. Louis. The Islanders have entered a stretch where they will play a game every two days, with two exceptions at the beginning of March. With the parity among Metropolitan Division teams so evenly distributed and the playoff push intensifying, the Islanders are looking forward to having their dads and mentors around to help lighten the mood.

NYI Practice: Devon Toews

"It's refreshing as long as it doesn't get in the way," Trotz said with a smile. "Everyone wants to perform well in front of their dads. It's a little change of pace. I don't mind it at all. You get into the grind where the games are very important. You get a change of pace and some levity out of it. There's always a funny story or two from the dads. The way we do it and the way other teams do it; players respond pretty well."
