The New York Islanders face the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night at UBS Arena. The Islanders won the first matchup against the Blues on Nov. 3 5-2, scoring four goals in the second period to win the game.
The Blues are coming off a 6-4 loss to the New York Rangers on Monday night. St. Louis is on a four-game losing streak, conceding six goals in each of their last three games.

The Islanders shut out the Chicago Blackhawks 3-0 on Sunday night, snapping a two-game losing streak following a 4-1 loss to the Nashville Predators on Friday and a 3-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday. Matt Martin, Zach Parise and Brock Nelson all scored second period goals on Sunday, while Semyon Varlamov stopped 21 shots for his first shutout of the season.
The Islanders are 6-1-1 in their last eight games against the Blues and are 5-0-1 in their last six home games against the Blues.

Cal Clutterbuck
will not play
on Tuesday night, as the veteran forward is out with an upper-body injury. This will mark Clutterbuck's third straight game missed. Clutterbuck did participate in morning skate.

ISLANDERS NOTES:
  • The Islanders scored two goals in under a minute against the Chicago Blackhawks, the fourth time this season they've accomplished that feat. The two goals were scored 43 seconds apart, the third-quickest goals the Islanders have scored this year.
    - Anthony Beauvillier scored his 200th NHL point with a primary assist on Brock Nelson's second period goal on Sunday against Chicago. Beauvillier has scored 98 goals and 102 assists in 433 NHL games, all with the Islanders.
    - Semyon Varlamov posted his first shutout of the year on Sunday against the Blackhawks. Varlamov has 12 shutouts as an Islander, tying Ilya Sorokin and Jaroslav Halak for fifth-most all-time as an Islander, and 37 in his career.
    - The Islanders scored three five-on-five goals on Sunday against Chicago. They had not scored a five-on-five goal since Nov. 26 against the Philadelphia Flyers.
    - The Islanders had over 40 shots on goal in two straight games for the first time since March 2018. They had 49 shots on goal on Friday against the Nashville Predators and 40 shots on goal on Sunday.

    - Hudson Fasching made his Islanders debut in place of the injured Cal Clutterbuck on Sunday. Fasching played 13:04 TOI and had two shots on goal, two hits and a blocked shot.
    - Zach Parise scored his 416th career goal, good for 9th among active players, and tied Tony Amonte for 91st all-time and 10th among American-born players. Jason Arnott is 9th all-time with 417 goals.
BLUES NOTES:
  • With Jordan Binnington starting on Monday against the New York Rangers, the Blues are likely to start former Islander Thomas Greiss on Tuesday. Greiss won the Jennings Trophy in 2018-19 as an Islander alongside Robin Lehner, and played for the team from 2015-20.
    - The Blues have conceded six goals in each of their last three games. The Blues' 3.84 goals against per game is the third most in the NHL.
    - Pavel Buchnevich has goals in eight of his last 10 games, including a goal against the Rangers on Monday, and is on a three-game goal streak. Buchnevich has 20 points (9G, 11A) in 20 games.
    - Robert Thomas leads the Blues in scoring with 22 points (4G, 18A) in 24 games. Thomas is on a three-game point streak with three assists in those games.
    - Jordan Kyrou has seven points (4G, 3A) in his last six games. Kyrou leads the team in goals with 10, and scored a goal in Monday's loss to the Rangers.
