INSIDE THE ROOMGerard Gallant
On hopes for tonight's game...
Same as we've seen for the last couple of games: win, play well, work hard, open the coach's eyes and the management's eyes and make sure you're working hard.
On importance of mental strength during games...
For the young kids, that's what I want to see: growth in their games. For the veteran players, we want to see them getting ready for the regular season. It's a week into camp now and guys look real good. I'm really satisfied with what I'm seeing right now from all the players.

On what he wants to accomplish at this stage of the preseason...
Get the game I want to play rolling. I think I had a pretty good game the first game with Tuch and Duke. It doesn't really matter who you're playing with, you're just trying to find your game and that's what I'm trying to do.
On getting back to competitive hockey after summer workouts...
It's tough to get the game shape going, especially in the summer. You do the bike, you train hard, but you never get that game shape. It's nice to get the reps in. Once these games are over, we'll take another step in getting ready for the season.
