Tomas Hyka Bio
Hyka, a speedy forward born in the Czech Republic, was selected in the sixth round (No. 171) of the 2012 NHL Draft but wasn't signed. He spent one season playing in Sweden and three in his home country before signing a one-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights as a free agent on June 1, 2017. He was the third player to sign with the expansion team.
After spending most of the 2017-18 season with Chicago of the American Hockey League, Hyka made his NHL debut against the Anaheim Ducks on Feb. 19, 2018. He scored his first NHL goal four nights later against the Vancouver Canucks. Hyka had three points (one goal, two assists) in 10 games with Vegas.
