JACOB MARKSTROM ON WINNING IN VANCOUVER:

"You want to win and I want to help my team win"

GEOFF WARD ON MARKSTROM'S NIGHT:

"This guy so well prepared for every hockey game, I don't think he cares where he's playing, whether it's home, here, anywhere else. He's such a competitive guy and takes so much pride in his personal performance and the way he prepares. He wants to win at everything. The fact that it's a game, he wants to compete and win. I don't think anything was added here. He just wants to win and that's the way that he is."

SEAN MONAHAN ON THE PLAY OF HIS GOALIE:

"When you're playing against a goalie like that, sometimes you can start over-thinking and can start making an extra pass to try and get a better look. When you do that, it starts to get frustrating. Marky's a great goalie and we're really happy he's on our team."

MARK GIORDANO ON CANUCKS' AGGRESSIVENESS:

"We were coming in against an extremely desperate team. That's the most aggressive I've seen a team play us all year - five-man press, everyone was standing up. I thought we played a great road game. As the game went on, we made adjustments, made more plays and got more and more chances. Sometimes, you're going to have to win like that on the road, especially against a team that was as desperate as they were tonight."

"He was great. He battled for us all night"

WARD ON DRAWING FIRST BLOOD:

"All the things that you look at in a playoff series, you look at here. It's going to be about adjustments. The things they did to us, what we have to nullify or take advantage of - areas where we think small things will make a difference. ... We've also got to look at potential lineup changes with respect to getting some fresh bodies in."

"I thought we got better as the game went along"

ON POTENTIAL 16-POINT SWING THIS WEEK:

"It's in the back of your mind how big you want to make that. You've got to approach it a game at a time. ... The players talk about it, they understand how big these games are, but at the same time, I don't know that you want to build them up to be too big. It's important for us to keep our focus on the next step, instead of down the road. If we can build in smaller units here, that's better for our team."
