VANCOUVER - David Rittich will get the nod in net this evening when the Flames take on the Canucks in the first contest in their four-game road swing.
The netminder got the start on Thursday against San Jose but was relieved by Mike Smith after giving up two quick goals in the opening period. The move, head coach Bill Peters said in Thursday's post-game media address, was made to shake things up as a group in the 5-2 setback to the Sharks and he has full confidence in Rittich heading into this evening's affair.
"Ritter will start," Peters confirmed. "He'll be good tonight, there's no concerns. We've got to get our team game in order. This is our fourth game coming out of the break and we want to get back to where we were."
