Despite earning one standings point, Anaheim's winless skid hit 10 games as the club fell to 23-45-11 on the season. The Ducks will conclude the 2022-23 season with a three-game homestand at Honda Center, beginning Sunday against Colorado.
Down to five defenseman after Scott Harrington was injured in warmups and unable to play, Cam Fowler logged an NHL-record 38:55 of ice time (ice time stat tracking began in 1997-98 season).
Ryan Strome tallied three points in his 700th NHL game to lead the Ducks offensively. Adam Henrique scored twice, clinching his sixth 20-goal season in the NHL. Max Jones also scored. Olle Eriksson Ek made 33 saves in net for Anaheim in his NHL debut.
Hayton, Christian Fischer, Lawson Crouse, Clayton Keller and Matias Maccelli scored for the Coyotes, who snapped a nine-game losing streak of their own. Rookie netminder Ivan Prosvetov earned the victory in net with 25 saves.
Both sides would light the lamp before the end of the first period, with Anaheim answering an early Arizona goal on a milestone marker for Henrique.
Fischer put the 'Yotes ahead first late in a strong shift spent in the Anaheim defensive zone, finding free space in the low slot and swiping home a centering pass from J.J. Moser behind the net.
The goal was Fischer's 13th of the season, his second-best toal of his six-year NHL career. Fischer has collected three points in his last seven games.
With the first of his two assists on the afternoon, Moser hits 30 points in his second NHL season. A second-round pick from Switzerland in 2019, Moser ranks second in NHL games played (123) among his draft class, one spot ahead of Mason McTavish (87).
Rookie Jack McBain tallied the secondary assist, his fifth helper in the last seven games. McBain tallied just 12 points in his first 62 games with a -10 rating, but now owns 3-9=12 points in his last 18 appearances with an even plus/minus.
Quickly down a goal in the season's final road game, the Ducks responded two minutes later, also taking advantage of a strong forecheck for a second-chance opportunity. Just as a penalty to defenseman Victor Soderstrom expired, Fowler pinched down the left wing wall to poke the puck free for Strome in the corner. Strome then turned and delivered a one-time feed to Henrique open in the slot, which the veteran lifted over Prosvetov's glove for the tying goal.

ANA@ARI: Henrique hammers home 20th goal of season

The goal, his first of two, clinched Henrique's sixth 20-goal season in the NHL and marked his 115th career tally as a Duck, ninth-most in club history.
Henrique has tallied points in each of his first two games since returning from a sprained MCL. Prior to the injury, he co-led Anaheim in goals and was third among team leaders in points.
The assist was the 250th of Strome's NHL career.
Arizona went back ahead early in the second though, hemming Anaheim in the defensive zone for consecutive shifts with goals from Crouse and Keller three minutes apart.
Crouse scored on a well-executed power play, making good on a second-chance in tight after missing on a quality look earlier in the shift. The 25-year-old has points in three straight games (2-1=3), continuing a career-best season in nearly every offensive category (24-21=45).
Keller then made it 3-1 with a one-timer from the right circle, beating Eriksson Ek to the blocker side off a pass from linemate Nick Schmaltz.
Arizona's second-leading scorer, Schmaltz is within striking distance of career milestones in goals (99), assists (198) and points (297).
The Ducks would get one of those back before the end of the period to pull within striking distance heading to the third, with Strome again in the middle of it. Grant dug the puck free out of the corner, turning and whipping a centering pass towards the slot, which hit Jones on the way and kicked to Strome on the backdoor. Strome elected to one-time the loose puck, sneaking it past the sliding Prosvetov inside the short side post.

ANA@ARI: Strome scores in 2nd period

With the goal, and a fight against Coyotes defender Connor Mackey a few minutes later, Strome completed a 'Gordie Howe hat trick' in his 700th NHL game.
One of two Ducks to appear in each of the club's first 80 games this season, along with Fowler, Strome is two points shy of his fourth consecutive 40-point season and five points short of 400 for his NHL career.
Grant has five points in his last eight appearances (1-4=5). With two points on the night, he tied Joffrey Lupul for 33nd on the Ducks all-time scoring list, passing Matt Beleksey, Todd Marchant, and Josh Manson.
Henrique then pulled the Ducks even early in the third as the finisher on a crisp set play off a power-play faceoff. Off the draw, Fowler walked the line and hit Zegras waiting on the wall, starting a tic-tac-toe passing play from Zegras to Strome to Henrique that ended with a one-timer over Prosvetov's shoulder.

ANA@ARI: Henrique nets second goal on power play

The primary assist marked Strome's second three-point game as a Duck.
With the secondary assist, Zegras matched his rookie scoring output (61 points) and set a new career best in assists (39).
The 3-3 tie held into deep in the third, when the script flipped as Arizona erased Anaheim's first lead. Jones put the Ducks ahead with his second late go-ahead goal of the last two months, this one a wrister from distance past Prosvetov's glove hand.

ANA@ARI: Jones scores in 3rd period

The goal, Jones' eighth of the year, matched his single-season career best. Jones also has personal best total in points, assists and games played this season.
But the lead lasted only 78 seconds, as Maccelli pulled the Yotes right back level at four with a one-timer from the left dot off a cross-ice feed by Keller, forcing the second overtime in three games between the teams this season.
With a goal and an assist on the night, Keller's next point will tie Keith Tkachuk for the Coyotes single-season record (86).
Hayton earned Arizona the extra standings point exactly four minutes into overtime, cutting to the middle off a 2-on-2 rush and beating Eriksson Ek with a snap shot from the slot.
The Ducks will begin the season's final homestand tomorrow against Colorado.
