Tickets for first-round home games are on sale now
. The schedule for the first round of the playoffs will be announced by the NHL later this weekend.
These clubs first met in the 2009 Western Conference Quarterfinals with the Ducks serving as the eighth seed and the Sharks entering the playoffs as the Presidents' Trophy winner with a league-high 117 points. At the time, the series marked just the second time in NHL history that two California teams faced one another in the postseason (first: 1969 - LA Kings vs. California Seals). The Ducks eliminated the Sharks in six games to become the fifth No. 8 seed since the Expansion Era to upset the NHL's best regular-season team.
This series will begin with Games 1 and 2 at Honda Center, followed by Games 3 and 4 at SAP Center. If this series goes beyond four games, it will return to Anaheim for Game 5, go back to San Jose for Game 6 and ultimately end at Honda Center in a do-or-die Game 7.
This is Anaheim's 14th trip to the postseason and the 11th in 13 seasons since 2005-06. The Ducks enter the 2018 playoffs with the most postseason wins in the Western Conference since 2014 (31-22), which is also tied for second in the NHL (Pittsburgh has 40 and the New York Rangers also have 31). Anaheim has also posted 70 playoff wins since 2006 (70-52), ranking third in the NHL (Pittsburgh has 91 and Chicago has 76).
Individual game tickets (potential four home games) for the First Round at Honda Center currently start as low as $45 per seat (limit 8 tickets per person).
