The Ducks have signed left wing Jeff Malott to a three-year contract through the 2028-29 NHL season.
Malott, 29 (8/7/96), has appeared in 71 career NHL games with Los Angeles (2024-26) and Winnipeg (2021-22), earning 3-7=10 points with 64 penalty minutes (PIM). He recorded a career-best in points (3-6=9), goals, assists and appearances (58) with Los Angeles during the 2025-26 season, ranking second among Kings leaders in hits (166). He also appeared in all four Stanley Cup Playoff contests for the Kings, where he reached a max skating speed of 23.37 MPH, ranking in the 97th percentile of 2026 postseason skaters.
The 6-5, 215-pound forward made his NHL debut with Winnipeg in 2021-22. Malott recorded 105-103=208 points with a +34 rating and 318 PIM in 298 career AHL games with Ontario (2024-25) and Manitoba (2020-24). He also scored two goals in 12 career Calder Cup Playoff contests. Malott established AHL single-season career highs in points (22-30=52) in 2023-24 and goals (23) in 2024-25 with Ontario, recording four consecutive 40-point campaigns from 2021-25.
An undrafted free agent, the Burlington, Ontario native spent four seasons at Cornell University of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), earning 24-29=53 points in 114 NCAA games. He led the club to regular-season conference championships in 2018 and 2020, while he served as captain his senior season in 2019-20.
