The Ducks have signed defenseman Nick Jensen to a two-year contract through the 2027-28 NHL season.

Jensen, 36 (9/21/90), has appeared in 694 career NHL games with Detroit (2016-18), Washington (2018-24) and Ottawa (2024-26), recording 26-146=172 points with a +33 rating and 164 penalty minutes (PIM). He has also appeared in 33 career Stanley Cup Playoff contests.

The 6-0, 202-pound defenseman recorded 4-13=17 points with 22 PIM while averaging 17:01 time on ice per game in 61 contests with Ottawa last season in 2025-26. Jensen set single-season NHL career highs in points (5-24=29), goals and assists in 2022-23 while he posted a personal best +32 rating in 2021-22 with the Capitals. He has recorded 20-plus points on four occasions, with three coming in the last five seasons: 2021-22 (5-16=21), 2022-23 (5-24=29) and 2024-25 (3-18=21).

Originally selected by Detroit in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Jensen skated in 118 career NCAA games with St. Cloud State from 2010-13, earning 15-71=86 points with a +28 rating. He was named to the NCAA’s 2012-13 First All-American Team and was the WCHA Defensive Player of the Year. A native of Rogers, Minn., Jensen helped Team USA to a bronze medal at the 2018 World Championship. He also won a USHL Clark Cup championship in 2010 with Green Bay.
