The Ducks acquired center Anton Wahlberg and a second-round selection (45th overall) in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Buffalo Sabres for defenseman Olen Zellweger. Anaheim now has seven selections in the 2026 NHL Draft, including two in the top 50:

  • 3rd round – 82nd overall
  • 4th round – 117th overall
  • 5th round – 146th overall
  • 6th round – 178th overall
  • 7th round – 210th overall

Wahlberg, 20 (7/4/05), has scored 21-50=71 points with a +9 rating in 140 American Hockey League (AHL) games the past three seasons. The 6-4, 205-pound forward recorded 9-28=37 points with a +5 rating and 20 penalty minutes (PIM) in 68 AHL games with Rochester in 2025-26, ranking third in assists and tied for fourth among team leaders in scoring. He also earned three assists in three 2026 Calder Cup Playoff contests. Wahlberg scored 11-19=30 points in 63 AHL games as a rookie with Rochester in 2024-25 as a 19-year-old. He has also collected 1-3=4 points in 14 career AHL postseason games in his three seasons.

Selected by Buffalo in the second round (39th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft, Wahlberg earned 7-7=14 points with a +5 rating in 61 career Swedish Hockey League (SHL) contests with Malmo from 2022-24.

The Malmo, Sweden native represented his country at the back-to-back World Junior Championships, earning silver in 2024 (1-2=3 points in seven games) while he scored 4-4=8 points with a +7 rating in seven games in 2025 to co-lead the club in points and rank tied for third in points. He also earned 3-3=6 points with a +4 rating at the 2023 U-18 World Championship.

Zellweger, 22 (9/10/03), recorded 16-35=51 points with 58 PIM in 164 NHL games with Anaheim from 2023-26. He scored 7-15=22 points with a +4 rating in 76 games with the Ducks in 2025-26. The 5-10, 193-pound defensemen also made his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in 2026, recording 1-1=2 points in three postseason contests.

Selected by Anaheim in the second round (34th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft, Zellweger recorded 8-17=25 points in 34 American Hockey League (AHL) games with San Diego in 2023-24. He was named the Canadian Hockey League Defenseman of the Year in 2022-23, the top defenseman among players in the OHL, QMJHL and WHL.
