• Tobias Rieder will enter the game with a two-game goal-scoring streak. Rieder, who ranked second on the team in goals last season with a career-high 16, has yet to score a goal vs. Detroit after six games.
• Antti Raanta will start in goal after being pulled from Tuesday's game at Vegas after allowing three goals on five shots within the first six minutes of the game. Raanta is 2-0-0 vs. Detroit with a .947 save percentage and a 1.50 goals-against average.
• Jordan Martinook, who missed Tuesday's game because of a lower-body injury, will be back in the lineup.
• Brendan Perlini has been placed on the injured-reserve list after suffering an upper-body injury in the first period of Tuesday's game at Vegas.
