In Ottawa's first playoff game last week vs. Hamilton, Hoefenmayer scored twice and added an assist in a 6-3 loss. In Game 2, he notched three assists including a helper on Sam Bitten's game-winning goal as the 67's won 5-4.
"I seem like I've spent my whole life in the playoffs and I love the pressure," Hoefenmayer told the Ottawa Sun. "…I love playing with the butterflies in my stomach."
Arizona picked Hoefenmayer 108th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.
"He's very good with the puck," Tim Bernhardt, Arizona's Director of Amateur Scouting, said at the draft. "There's some offense with him. He loves to get involved in the play and is very proactive from the back end and jumps into the play and recognizes when to. We think that with some skating development he was a real good value in the fourth round."
