GLENDALE, ARIZONA - The Arizona Coyotes announced today that the team, in partnership with collegiate hockey teams from Grand Canyon University and Arizona State University, will host an EA Sports NHL eSports tournament at 18 Degrees in the Ice Den Scottsdale on Monday, September 9 from 6:00-9 p.m.

"We are very excited to hold our second annual eSports event featuring Coyotes players and students from ASU and GCU," said Coyotes President & CEO Ahron Cohen. "The Coyotes are constantly looking for new ways to broaden our audience, build connectivity to our game, and enhance fandom in our team, our league and our sport. We are committed to investing in the next generation of NHL fans, and introducing the gaming community to hockey in a unique and exciting way."
Hockey players from GCU's D1 and D2 club men's teams as well as GCU's D1 club women's team will face off against ASU's D1 and D2 club men's teams and ASU's D1 club women's team. The players will compete for the $2,000 grand prize and a chance to play against Coyotes' forwards Christian Fischer and Clayton Keller in the final championship round.
Coyotes In-Arena Host Kristen Keogh along with MIX 96.9's Mathew Blades will be on hand to host the event and interview participants throughout the event.
Admission to the event is free and all fans are welcome to attend. The Coyotes will donate a total of $7,000, which will be distributed to all participating teams.
