GLENDALE, ARIZONA - The Arizona Coyotes selected five players on the second day of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft on Wednesday.

With the 111th overall selection in the fourth round, Arizona selected defenseman Mitchell Miller from the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League (USHL). The 5-foot-10, 181-pound Miller recorded 8-25-33 with 40 penalty minutes (PIM) and a plus-seven rating in 44 games with the Storm this season. He was named to the All-USHL First Team in 2019-20 and was named USHL Defenseman of the Week on Jan. 22, 2020, Jan. 28, 2020 and Feb. 18, 2020. Miller also won a bronze medal with the U.S. team at the World Junior A Challenge in December 2019. The Sylvania, OH native has registered 12-38-50 and 60 PIM in 94 career USHL games with Tri-City and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Miller is committed to the University of North Dakota.
Arizona selected forward Carson Bantle from the Madison Capitols (USHL) with the 142nd pick in the fifth round. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Bantle registered 20-29-49 and 54 PIM to rank 12th in the League in points in 49 games with the Capitols in 2019-20. He began the year as an alternate captain and was promoted to team captain during the season. Bantle was named the USHL Forward of the Week on Oct. 1, 2019 and was selected to the 2020 BioSteel All-American Game on Dec. 27, 2019. The Onalaska, WI native played for Team USA at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the 2018 Under-17 Five Nations tournament. Bantle is committed to play at Michigan Tech University.
The Coyotes selected center Filip Barklund with the 173rd pick in the sixth round. The 6-foot, 168-pound native of Stockholm, SE registered 9-21-30 and 32 PIM in 43 games with Orebro HK J20 (J20 SuperElit) in 2019-20. Barklund has recorded 1-7-8 and eight PIM in 10 games with Orebro HK J20 (J20 Nationell) so far this season.
The Coyotes acquired a seventh-round choice (192nd overall) from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for the Coyotes' 2021 seventh-round draft choice. With the 192nd overall selection, the Coyotes chose right wing Elliot Ekefjard of the Malmo Redhawks (J20 Nationell). The 6-foot-4, 216-pound Sweden native has 3-3-6 and four PIM in six games with Malmo this season. He collected 24-13-37 and six PIM in 19 games with IF Bjorkloven (J18 Elit), 13-7-20 and 10 PIM in 16 contests with IF Bjorkloven (J18 Allsvenskan) as well as 9-5-14 and four PIM in 15 games with IF Bjorkloven (J20 Elit) in 2019-20.
Arizona chose left wing Ben McCartney with its final selection in the 2020 NHL Draft at 204th overall in the seventh round. The 6-foot, 185-pound McCartney recorded 25-36-61 and 105 PIM in 61 games with Brandon in 2019-20. He led the team in assists and PIM and was second in points. The Macdonald, MB native has collected 48-66-114 and 209 PIM in 181 career regular season games with Brandon.
