The skinny
After demonstrating some serious skill hanging onto the puck and setting a new career high in goals in his first campaign in Montreal, Armia inked a two-year deal with the Habs and set off to take his game to new heights. The Finnish forward started the season off with a splash, scoring both a shorthanded goal and a power play marker in the same period in the Canadiens' third game of the season in Buffalo - the first of six multi-point outings for Armia in 2019-20.

Playoff punditry
Armia provided some serious depth for the Canadiens in the postseason, seeing significant playing time on both the power play (2:24/game) and penalty kill (2:10/game). He was deployed for over 20 minutes in a contest on two occasions, and led the Canadiens with a plus-5 differential. His five points (3G, 2A) in 10 games were tied for third on the Habs, and he finished with the second-most shots for Montreal with 27. He also scored the Canadiens' only shorthanded goal of the playoffs as part of a two-goal night in Game 5's 5-3 win over the Flyers on August 19.

They said it
"I know I can play a lot better. I'm just trying to work every night, and trying to do my best. I know I haven't been scoring, but there have been a lot of guys on our team who have been stepping up and scoring - our young guys. I'm just trying to work every night and do my best, and I know I'll produce something along the way." -Armia, in a press conference prior to the start of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal against the Flyers
