ELMONT – Nick Suzuki is officially part of the Canadiens century club.

During Sunday's game against the New York Islanders at UBS Arena, the Habs captain registered his 100th point of the season with a second-period goal to open the scoring. Juraj Slafkovsky and Lane Hutson were credited with assists on the play, at 15:56 in the middle frame.

After hitting the milestone, Suzuki quickly added his 101st point of the season just 28 seconds later, with an assist on Ivan Demidov’s goal to make it 2-0.

Suzuki becomes the first Canadiens player in over 40 years to register triple-digit points. Mats Naslund last hit the 100-point mark on March 13, 1986, while en route to an eventual 110-point campaign during the team’s 1985-86 Stanley Cup-winning season.

The 26-year-old center becomes just the fifth player in franchise history to achieve the feat, and first Canadiens captain to ever do so.
