TAMPA – Goaltender Jakub Dobes is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of March.

Dobes was selected first star of the game three times (on March 24 against Carolina, March 29 in Carolina, and March 31 in Tampa), second star twice (on March 17 against Boston and March 26 against Columbus) and third star once (on March 10 against Toronto). In 10 games last month, the 24-year-old netminder posted a 7-3-0 record with a 2.21 goals-against average. He also ranked first among goaltenders who played at least ten games in March with a .927 save percentage and 22 goals against. Dobes also set a career-high with 41 saves on March 24 against Carolina.

The Ostrava, CZ native was named the NHL’s first star of the week for the period ending on March 29.

A ceremony honoring the March Molson Cup winner will take place ahead of Sunday’s game against the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre.
