If the Habs were at the Skills Competition…

MONTREAL - The Canadiens don't have a representative at the 2019 SAP NHL All-Star Skills™ in San Jose, but here are a few candidates who would've stood out at the annual event preceding the All-Star Game based on their performances in the Habs' own Skills Competition presented by RONA earlier in January.

Fastest skater: Paul Byron
The Habs winger has long been known for his incredible speed, and he showed it again this year when he clocked in at a blazing-fast 13.68 seconds at the Habs' Skills Competition. That would place him third in San Jose after Connor McDavid (13.378s) and Jack Eichel (13.582s).

Hardest shot: Shea Weber
The native of Sicamous, BC has won the hardest shot segment of the annual event's Skills Competition on three occasions - 2015, 2016, and 2017 - with a personal best 108.5 mph blast in 2015. At the Canadiens' skills event, the captain registered a 103 mph rocket, which would've won him the NHL edition after John Carlson took it with a 102.8 mph blast. Jeff Petry, for his part, gave Weber a scare when his shot rang in at 102 mph.
