Primeau and Harris win the Beanpot

MONTREAL - Cayden Primeau and the Northeastern University Huskies have taken their second consecutive Beanpot title.

Jim Madigan's troops won the final game 4-2 on Monday night at TD Garden against Boston College.
The Beanpot is an annual tournament pitting the four major hockey universities in Massachusetts - Northeaster, Harvard, Boston University, and Boston College - against one another.

In the win, Primeau stood out once again, turning aside 33 shots on his way to being named tournament MVP. The 19-year-old American is the third goaltender in Northeastern history to be named MVP, joining Tim Marshall (1984) and Bruce Racine (1985, 1988).

Montreal's seventh-round pick (199th overall) in 2017 finished the tournament having stopped 59 of the 62 shots he faced and registering a .952 save percentage. With those numbers, Primeau was selected winner of the Eberly Award as the Beanpot's top goaltender for a second straight year.

This season, Primeau holds a 15-8-1 record with a 2.37 goals-against average and .923 save percentage to go along with three shutouts.
The native of Voorhees, NJ also won silver with United States at this year's IIHF World Junior Championship. He's in the running for the Hobey Baker trophy, handed out annually to the best player in men's NCAA hockey.

For his part, defenseman Jordan Harris finished the tournament with an assist and a plus-2 differential. The helper was earned on his team's first goal of the final game against Boston College.

In 27 games this season with the Huskies, the Habs' third-round pick (71st overall) in 2018 has one goal for nine points and a plus-12 differential.
