Things started off in the first period with David Krejci and Pastrnak, a pair that has continued to make headlines over and over with their undeniable chemistry. The pair had similar success last Thursday in Czechs' 5-1 win over Latvia when Krejci found Pastrnak backdoor, and the two remained in sync in the quarter-final match a week later.
Starting things off for Czechia, Krejci fed the puck to Pastrnak on the power play, who finished it off with a rocket of a one-timer, a highlight Bruins fans had on loop. This was followed by yet another David to David sequence, with Pastrnak having a nice feed to Krejci who found teammate Roman Cervenka for a bullet to put the Czechs up 2-0.
Pastrnak expressed how much he enjoys playing with former teammate, telling the International Ice Hockey Federation (@IIHFHockey), "we love playing together, not much practice needed from us, he's a great player so it is easy to play with him."
The David & David pair will get another chance to add to their joint highlight reel as they take on Canada in the semifinals this Saturday.
Jeremy Swayman also continues to make headlines in Finland, helping team U.S.A defeat Norway 4-2 on Tuesday. Swayman played the first period, stopping all nine shots he faced. "We've got a good anchor in net with Sway back there," Adam Gaudette told the International Ice Hockey Federation (@IIHFHockey). U.S.A will continue on to face Finland in the semifinal on Saturday.
