BostonBruins.com - Bruins defense prospects Charlie McAvoy and Ryan Lindgren were among 27 players named to the preliminary roster for the 2017 U.S. National Junior Team. A final 23-man roster will compete at the IIHF World Junior Championship later this month.

McAvoy, selected with the 14th overall pick in last June's NHL Draft, will be attempting to make the team for the second consecutive year, as he won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship in Finland. The Boston University sophomore is fourth on the Terriers with 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) in 14 games this season.
The Long Beach, N.Y., native also captured a gold medal during the 2015 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship.
A second-round pick in last June's Draft, Lindgren has a goal and two assists in 14 games during his freshman campaign for the University of Minnesota. The Minneapolis native won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2016 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship.
Lauzon, Senyshyn Named to Canada's Selection Camp
Team USA's training camp will be held Dec. 16-20 at HarborCenter in Buffalo and Dec. 20-24 in Oshawa, Ontario. The final roster is expected to be announced by Dec. 24.
The tournament begins Dec. 26 in Montreal and Toronto.
