BostonBruins.com -Bruins prospects are back in action all over the map and 2022 second-round pick Matthew Poitras is starting off strong with the Guelph Storm, applying what he learned at Boston's training camp into his game.

Poitras Play of the Night

The 18-year-old center from Brooklin, Ontario, has started off his season on the right foot, earning himself the OHL Play of the Night for his snipe vs. the Saginaw Spirit last Saturday. "I sold the shot and saw him go down so I held onto it a bit longer and a lane just kind of opened up for me to shoot," said Poitras.
The dangle circulated on Twitter, recognizing his poise with the puck and ability to wait for that right moment. Poitras had success at the B's training camp, saying he gained some confidence to try out some moves like the one on Saturday night.
"A takeaway from camp for me would be to just play with confidence," said Poitras. "Have the confidence to try creative moves in games that may lead to scoring opportunities."

The Bruins' second-round pick also earned a goal and an assist in the Storms' season opener on September 30, which checks him in at four points in two games to start off his season. For Poitras, preparation is key as he moves forward in his season with the Storm.
"At camp, I learned how much preparation goes into each day the rink to take care of your body so you can feel good everyday," said Poitras. "I'm trying to apply that to my pregame routine so that I can feel better as the season goes on."
Poitras and the Storm take on the Flint Firebirds Friday night at 7:30 pm.
