What started as a state championship tournament in 2017 has now expanded from 18 divisions to 21 and begins with 15 clubs and 200 teams. The Blue Note Cup gathers participants from the Youth Division Travel Leagues and includes teams from AA through B and the GRPH silver and gold levels.
The winning teams will have the chance to celebrate with the Blue Note Cup after the game and then can display the trophy at their home rink until next year's tournament. Just like the Stanley Cup, championship teams will have their team name engraved on the trophy while also being able to celebrate their victory in style. In the past, players have filled the Cup with their favorite cereal, soda or kid-friendly beverage. Some have even put their younger siblings in the Cup like the Tarasenkos did this past year with their newborn.
