BLUES The St. Louis Blues had a strong effort all around on Saturday night in Colorado but a late goal from Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar was a heartbreaker in a 2-1 loss at Ball Arena.
Ryan O'Reilly scored in the first period and Ville Husso made 32 saves.
The loss was the Blues' sixth straight (0-5-1).
"It's a tough one to swallow, for sure, not getting a point out of that (game)," Blues Head Coach Craig Berube said. "Pretty good battle by us."
GOLDEN KNIGHTS Vegas had a 1-0 lead in the third period Saturday, but the Minnesota Wild got two goals 55 seconds apart in the third period to snag a 2-1 win at T-Mobile Arena.
Prior to Saturday's game, the Golden Knights were 15-0-0 when leading after two periods.
