Blues to honor Jackman before Oct. 27 game

ST. LOUIS - Former Blues defenseman Barret Jackman will drop the ceremonial first puck before Thursday's 7 p.m. game against the Detroit Red Wings.
Jackman spent 14 years in the NHL, 13 of which were spent with the St. Louis Blues. He signed a one-day contract to retire a Blue on Oct. 4 at Scottrade Center.

Jackman's first game as a Blue was in a Stanley Cup Playoff games against the Detroit Red Wings on April 14, 2002.
"His first game in the National Hockey League looked like he was in the League for five or six years," said Hall of Famer Al MacInnis. "That's the kind of poise and composure he showed."
