PHILADELPHIA - With 160 points (56 goals, 104 assists) in 180 games in the American Hockey League, Kenny Agostino has become a household name in the AHL.
Thanks to an impressive breakaway goal in the third period of his regular season debut with the Blues on Monday in Philadelphia, he might become a househould name in the NHL, too.

"You never expect that," Agostino said of being called up and scoring in his debut with the Blues. "You learn in this game and in this business that you've always got to be ready. So I'm just happy to get it and happy to be here."
Agostino was recalled from the Chicago Wolves on Sunday, along with forward Magnus Paajarvi, to help deal with the loss of Blues forward Robby Fabbri to an ACL injury. Fabbri will be out of the rest of the season and the playoffs.
"I don't know that we would have expected him to create as much as offense as he did, but we definitely saw a few things that we really liked in his game," Blues Head Coach Mike Yeo said of Agostino after the Blues' 2-0 win against the Flyers. "(We like) his strong stick, his instincts in the offensive zone. Like all young players, we'll make sure he stays on it."
This season, Agostino leads the AHL with 60 points (18 goals, 42 assists) in 48 games with the Chicago Wolves - 15 points ahead of the next closest player.

"He's been having a great deal of success down there and I want him to come up and show us what he can do," Blues Head Coach Mike Yeo said before the game. "I don't want him thinking about too much or worried one mistake will take him out of the lineup. I want to see what he can bring us and we'll give him a good chance."
Before Monday, Agostino had played in just 10 NHL games - all with the Calgary Flames - posting a goal and an assist.
Last September, Agostino made a good first impression with the Blues, recording five points (two goals, three assists) in his preseason debut with the club against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Agostino would add another assist in the preseason to finish fourth overall in NHL preseason scoring with six points.
Agostino, who played college hockey at Yale, was a fifth round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2010.
