The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled goaltender Kevin Lankinen (LAHNK-ih-nehn) on an emergency basis from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and re-assigned defenseman Ian McCoshen (muh-KAH-shuhn) to Rockford.

Additionally, Chicago Blackhawks team physician Dr. Michael Terry announced today goaltender Robin Lehner will not participate in morning skate and will not play in tonight's game vs. St. Louis (flu-like symptoms).
Lankinen, 24, holds a 5-2-1 record with a 2.48 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage. Among qualified AHL goaltenders, his 20 total goals against share first in the AHL and his .924 save percentage shares fifth among AHL netminders.
Last season, the Helsinki, Finland native made his North American professional hockey debut with the IceHogs on Oct. 5, 2018 vs. Cleveland. He posted a 7-8-4 record during the 2018-19 campaign with Rockford, recording a 2.50 GAA and a .910 SV%. In 27 career AHL games, Lankinen holds a 12-10-5 record with a 2.50 GAA and a .915 SV%.
Signed by Chicago on May 21, 2018, Lankinen posted career-best marks in GAA (1.33) and SV% (.946) in 15 games with HIFK of the Finnish Elite League during the 2017-18 season. He also appeared in 13 postseason contests with a 1.99 GAA and a .936 SV%, helping his club to a Liiga bronze medal.
McCoshen did not make an appearance during his recall. In 13 games with the IceHogs this season, the defenseman has tallied four assists.
Lehner is 5-5-3 with a 2.69 GAA and a .929 SV% this season with the Blackhawks.
