Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned forward Zack Mitchell to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Mitchell, 24 (1/7/93), played in the Wild's loss to Anaheim Tuesday after being recalled from Iowa on Monday. He has played in 11 games with Minnesota this season, including his NHL debut at Pittsburgh on Nov. 10. The 6-foot-1, 184-pound native of Orangeville, Ont., has 14 points (8-6=14) in 39 games with Iowa this season, leading the team with six power-play goals. Mitchell led Iowa in goals and scoring in 2015-16, and is in his third season with the Wild after signing as a free agent on March 4, 2014.
Minnesota continues its franchise-record, eight-game homestand Saturday, hosting the Nashville Predators at 7 p.m. CT on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.
