SAINT PAUL -- The National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced tonight that the Minnesota Wild Foundation has distributed over $2 million in proceeds to local charities through the Split the Pot Raffle since the raffle program began in 2010. Mike Drummer of Mankato, Minn. was the fan that purchased the raffle ticket that led to the milestone.

"The Minnesota Wild Foundation continues to be amazed by the extreme generosity and support of Minnesota Wild fans," said Rachel Schuldt, Executive Director of the Minnesota Wild Foundation. "It is a privilege to continue to work alongside our fans to make a positive impact in our community, including so many fantastic local community programs and charities, while growing the game of hockey and improving the lives of families across Minnesota."

Split the Pot hits $2 million raised

Purchasing raffle tickets gives fans the chance to win a portion of ticket proceeds and create a greater State of Hockey by supporting local non-profits that support the game of hockey or focus on children's medical related causes. Raffle tickets may be purchased from the time doors open through the end of the second intermission. Fans can purchase tickets at raffle kiosks located at Sections 102, 118, Club 11 and Section 206. Roaming sellers can also be found throughout the arena. Fans may purchase single Raffle tickets for $2, three tickets for $5, ten tickets for $10 or forty tickets for $20. One lucky winner takes home half the gross proceeds from that game's raffle ticket sales, up to $10,000. The game's designated charity will receive the remaining funds. The winning number is determined through a random drawing. For more information on how to participate or redeem a winning ticket, visit wild.com/raffle.
Proceeds from the Split the Pot Raffle have benefited over 30 local charities including Minnesota Warriors Ice Hockey, Friends of St. Paul Hockey, Minnesota Hockey, Hobey Baker Foundation, Minnesota Special Hockey, Ronald McDonald House, Bel13ve in Miracles Foundation and United Heroes League. Future beneficiaries include JDRF, Spare Key, HopeKids, Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare, Autism Society of Minnesota and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
