Iowa earned a 5-4 victory in its first match against Manitoba Saturday at Bell MTS Place (1/13). F Cal O'Reilly led the team with a season-high four points (1-3=4). F Sam Anas (1- 2=3) and F Kyle Rau (1-2=3) each netted three points while F Justin Kloos (1-1=2) and F Landon Ferraro (1-1=2) tallied two points apiece. G Steve Michalek stopped 44-of-48 shots.
The Wild fell in the second match against the Moose, 3-2, Sunday in Winnipeg (1/14). Anas and FZack Mitchelleach scored for Iowa while G Niklas Svedberg made 33 saves.
Anas leads the Wild with 31 points (14-17=31) in 33 games this season. O'Reilly ranks second with 30 points (7-23=30) in 38 games while Kloos ranks third with 28 points (11-17=28) and ranks T-5th amongst AHL rookies in assists, T-6th in scoring and T-8th in PPG (5).
Svedberg is 7-8-3 with a 2.78 GAA, a .909 SV% and one shutout in 18 games this season and Michalek is 9-3-3 with a 2.71 GAA and a .918 SV% in 15 contests.
Iowa will host Chicago, Bakersfield and Milwaukee at home this week.
