ST. PAUL -- Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter will require surgery to repair a fracture in his right ankle suffered Saturday night at Dallas and will miss the remainder of the season.

Suter has tallied 51 points (6-45=51) in 78 games with Minnesota and ranks second in the NHL in time on ice per game (26:46). He set a career-high in assists (franchise record by a defenseman) and tied his career-best point total this season (tied his franchise record). Suter ranks tied for fourth amongst NHL defensemen in power-play assists (22, franchise record), tied for seventh in power-play points (23), tied for eighth in assists and 14th in scoring.
He leads the Wild in assists, power-play points and blocked shots (138) and ranks fourth in scoring, multi-point games (10) and hits (78).
