ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Wild, in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, today announced it will host a Minneapolis-St. Paul Hiring Our Heroes Hiring Expo on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Xcel Energy Center beginning at 9 a.m. The expo is a hands-on career planning event designed to connect members of the local military community with military-ready employers.
Over 75 companies from around the region are expected to attend with jobs available for veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience. Companies participating in the event range from America's largest employers to dozens of smaller companies.
Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes and will have the opportunity to:
- Attend an interactive workshop
- Hear insider tips from hiring managers and recruiters
- Learn about online tools designed to translate military or volunteer experience on a resume
- Build a professional network
- Find out about certifications required to segue into high-demand careers
Additionally, Jon Cox, a retired Navy Master Chief and 2017 attendee of the Hiring Our Heroes Minneapolis-St. Paul Hiring Expo, will share with attendees his experiences successfully transitioning from the military to civilian employment. Cox served 24 years in the U.S. Navy. He was assigned to two aircraft carriers as an imagery analyst. He completed a yearlong deployment in Afghanistan as a recruiter/advisor for the Afghan Army. Cox served as a Navy recruiter in multiple commands in the United States for 20 years. He currently works as the military recruiter for Hy-Vee.
Doors open at 9 a.m. A personal branding workshop will take place from 9:30 - 11 a.m. followed by the hiring expo until 2 p.m.

Pre-registered attendees are eligible to receive two free tickets to the Feb. 11 Minnesota Wild game against the Vegas Golden Knights at 7 p.m.
