Wild.com's Dan Myers gives three takeaways from the Wild's 2-0 loss against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on Thursday night:

1. The Wild slowed one of the NHL's most explosive offenses... but didn't slow it enough.
The Flames were coming off a nine-goal outburst in a 9-6 win in Columbus on Tuesday night, and was returning home, where it's 4.31 goals per game on home ice are the most in the NHL.
Minnesota weathered an early flurry, with Alex Stalock stopping Johnny Gaudreau's breakaway chance moments into the game among them, getting the game to the first intermission scoreless.

But less than a minute into the second, Elias Lindholm capitalized on a 2-on-1 rush, giving the Flames the lead ... one they wouldn't relinquish.
Lindholm also scored just over a minute into the third to put the game on ice.
2. Minnesota couldn't get its power play on track.
Just 48 hours removed for a game in Vancouver in which it went 3-for-3 with the power play, the Wild was unable to take similar advantage in Calgary, a team that entered the game ranking near the bottom of the NHL in penalty kill proficiency.
Minnesota went 0-for-5 with the man power advantage, including a couple of big opportunities in the second period with the game still at 1-0 and another midway through the third and the Wild down a pair.
3. Stalock became the seventh Minnesota-born goalie to play 100 games in the NHL.
In doing so, he became the first State of Hockey native in more than 20 years to accomplish the feat. The last one to do so? St. Paul native Damian Rhodes, who reached the century mark with the Ottawa Senators during the 1995-96 season.

The legendary Frank Brimsek has skated in more games than any other goalie from the state, playing in 514 NHL contests, mostly with the Boston Bruins back in the 1940s.
Former North Star Jon Casey of Grand Rapids is second at 425 with Aurora's Mike Karakas third at 336.
Rhodes finished his career with 309 games under his belt, with Virginia's Pete LoPresti (175), Wild goaltending coach Bob Mason of International Falls (145) and now Stalock all at 100 games or more in the League.
