Wild.com's Dan Myers gives three takeaways from the Wild's 4-3 loss against the Arizona Coyotes at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Tuesday night:

1. The Wild appeared in control after a dominant second period.
Just how good was Minnesota in the second? The Wild scored twice in the period and limited Arizona to just one shot on goal, which came with under three minutes to play.
By the then, Minnesota had turned a 1-1 hockey game into a 3-1 contest, getting goals in the second from Zach Parise and Jason Zucker.

Parise now leads the team with 11 goals on the season.
2. Despite that success, the Wild couldn't sustain it in the third period.
Like it did against the Ottawa Senators six nights ago, Minnesota took its foot off the gas and let its opponent string together multiple goals in a short span.
While the Wild could muster just one shot on goal against replacement goaltender Adin Hill through the first 13-plus minutes of action, who entered the game at the start of the third, Arizona got three goals just 5:22 apart on the other end, turning a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead.
Two of those goals came from Brainerd native Josh Archibald, who also assisted on Logan Crouse's first-period goal. For Archibald, it was the second multi-goal game of his career and third multi-point effort.
3. Jared Spurgeon dished out three assists.
Not a bad night for a guy who entered with eight helpers in the season's first 23 games.
For Spurgeon, it was the second time in his career he's dished out three assists in a game; he also did it Jan. 2 against Florida. The three assists ties a franchise record for most assists in a single game by a defenseman, done 14 other times since the Wild entered the NHL in 2000.
Additionally, defenseman Matt Dumba, who assisted on Parise's second-period tally, ran his point streak to seven games. That seven-game streak ties Ryan Suter's franchise record for longest by a defenseman; the former Wisconsin Badger accomplished that feat in his first season with the Wild back in 2013.
During his seven-game stretch, Dumba has five goals and five assists.
